About Me

About.jpg

I'm from the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, the most sacred land I know. Those gentle mountains taught me to love the earth deeply. I also spent my childhood on a farm in rural West Virginia. It was the safest place on earth, and there I felt a profound connection to all life. My grandparents were peace activists and fueled my desire to serve those in need. My parents nurtured my love of god, land, critter and people. I am ever grateful to my rural, southern roots.

Northern California has been my home for the past 25 years. I’ve loved living in the diverse landscapes of this west coast state from the Mendocino redwoods, to the city of San Francisco, to my present-day Santa Cruz county. With it’s foggy ocean views and the ever-present possibility of an earthquake, this fiery California land is a potent spot for innovation and change. It is a land of never-ending transformation. It is here that I live with my partner and our three boys – a thriving patchwork family. Here, my holistic healing practice spans two distinct landscapes — nestled in a beautiful Victorian in the heart of San Francisco, as well as in an ocean dwelling along the cliff-sides of the Santa Cruz dunes.

I’m inspired by:

  • Connection of all types–to land, to people, to community, to the world, and to the universe

  • Working to heal places of disconnect, for example: painful relating, unhealthy habits, addiction..anything

  • Family, cooking, deep conversation

  • Dharma teachings, poetry, and plants

  • Love–the most powerful source of healing we have

  • The courageousness of an open heart

  • The path of service. I have walked this path in the corporate world, the playground, mental hospitals, animal shelters, and in my private practice

  • The beauty and vulnerability in transformative moments

I am honored and humbled by my life and my work. I deeply believe we can heal ourselves and our world and I want to show you how.
